Am I allowed to drill a borehole?
According to the by-laws, a homeowner is considered a schedule one user - and is entitled to reasonable use of the groundwater underneath their property. A "reasonable amount" equals a maximum of ten thousand litres of water per day which can be used for your in-home use, for irrigation and for your pools. It can also be used for supplying water to your animals, if you've got a few cows and chickens and horses on your plot. And it can also be used to irrigate your own vegetable gardens.
